Dierk Raabe to serve as 2023 Van Horn Distinguished Lecturer, October 9th - 11th

The 2023 Van Horn Distinguished Lecture Series will take place Monday, October 9th, 2023 through Wednesday, October 11th, 2023.  This year's Van Horn Lecturer is Dierk Raabe from the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung in Düsseldorf, Germany.  He will present a lecture each day in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering's White Building.  Each lecture will begin at 4:00 p.m. in room 411.  Lecture I, presented on Monday, October 9th, 2023 is titled "The 2 Billion Ton Question—How Can Metals Become More Sustainable?."  Lecture II presented on Tuesday, October 10th is titled "The Materials Behind Green Steel."  Wednesday's Lecture III is titled "The Interplay of Lattice Defects and Chemistry at Atomic Scale and Why it Matters for the Properties of Materials."  We hope you are able to join us!  The event will be live streamed if you are unavailable to attend in person.  For live stream information, email MacKenzie Kreutzberg at mmk235@case.edu.
